Hygreen Energy Secures Collaborative Project in the Americas, Supplying PEM Electrolyzer System to WESI for Canadian Hydrogen Mobility and Research
ROTTERDAM, Netherlands – May 20, 2026 – Hygreen Energy, a global leading electrolyzer manufacturer, today announced it has been selected by Waterford Energy Services Inc. (WESI) to supply a 1.25 MW PEM electrolyzer system for a pioneering hydrogen project in Nova Scotia, Canada.

The system comprises a Hybrion PEM electrolysis stack from Bosch integrated with Hygreen’s balance of plant (BoP) system. During the World Hydrogen Summit 2026 in Rotterdam, Hygreen Energy, Bosch, and WESI held a signing ceremony to celebrate this project. The project will produce green hydrogen for uses such as heavy-duty truck refueling, industrial process, and remote energy infrastructure needs. WESI will be able to use the system to serve as a key research and demonstration initiative for hydrogen energy applications.
Scheduled for commissioning in the first quarter of 2027, the project marks Hygreen Energy’s first collaboration with Bosch in the electrolyzer space, setting a significant milestone for both companies as they jointly expand their footprint in the Americas hydrogen market.
Similarly, this project is a lighthouse for Atlantic Canada, allowing Nova Scotia and WESI to be leaders in the hydrogen space, building local know-how in actual hydrogen production, dispensing, storage, commissioning, operations and maintenance.
“This project with WESI demonstrates Hygreen Energy’s ability to integrate world-class PEM technology with our own BoP expertise to deliver complete, reliable solutions for real-world applications,” said Alan Tan, CCO of Hygreen Energy. “We are proud to partner with Bosch and WESI to advance clean hydrogen for heavy-duty transport and research in Canada.”
Beyond this initial supply, Hygreen Energy has also signed an agency agreement with WESI, formally appointing WESI as its agent. This strategic relationship opens the door for further project collaborations in Canada and beyond.
“We are excited to work with Hygreen Energy and Bosch on this landmark project for Eastern Canada,” said Blair MacDougall, President of Waterford Energy Services Inc. “This initiative not only addresses the need for green hydrogen in our region, but also positions WESI as a knowledge leader to service future demand for clean fuel in transportation, energy storage applications and helps to position Nova Scotia as well as the Atlantic Provinces as a leading hub for hydrogen innovation.”
